Product Care & Use Instructions

Ceramic Dinnerware (Bella Bianca)

Our Bella Bianca Collection is safe for the oven (not to exceed 500 degrees F) microwave and dishwasher on the low heat/air dry setting.

Decorative Ceramic Pieces (Capri, Nero,  Pompeii, etc.)
Many of our decorative ceramic pieces are finished with faux cracks, distressing, drips, color variations and/or tiny lines in the glaze. These qualities are intentional and desirable, as they reflect the genuine handmade quality of the piece. Decorative garden containers should be brought indoors during freezing temperatures. Liners are recommended.

Flatware
Both our pewter & stainless steel and Mebatek® & stainless steel flatware collections are safe for the dishwasher. We recommend a non-abrasive detergent without citrus or perfume and the low heat/energy dry cycle.

Glass Pieces (Bella Bianca, Sofia, Cero, Chiara)
Please hand-wash with a nonabrasive detergent.

Gold-gilded Pieces (Vetro Gold)
Our gilded pieces should never be placed in the dishwasher, oven or microwave. Please hand-wash with a nonabrasive detergent. We recommend the use a soft jewelry cloth to gently buff the naturally occurring tarnish on our silver-gilded pieces.

Murano Glass Pieces
Please hand-wash with a nonabrasive detergent. For decorative use only.

Pewter Pieces
Pewter, which is the fourth most precious metal (after Platinum, Gold and Silver), is comprised of tin and very small amounts of antimony and copper, which add strength and durability. Arte Italica pewter is made using 95% tin, which is the highest possible quality. In the rare instance that your pewter requires polishing, any silver polish should restore its natural luster. To remove scratches, simply buff gently with the finest grade (0000) steel wool. Pewter should never be used in the oven or microwave. Arte Italica pewter is dishwasher-safe on a low-heat/air-dry setting. Please avoid abrasive or citrus-scented detergent. Prolonged exposure to citrus, vinegar and other acidic foods can harm the finish of pewter, so please wash your pewter immediately. Water-softening agents can sometimes damage the finish of pewter.

Pewter & Ceramic Pieces
Our pewter and ceramic dishes may be washed in the dishwasher on a low-heat/air-dry setting, using a mild detergent. Abrasive or citrus-scented detergents should be avoided. This collection is not safe for oven, microwave or freezer use.

Pewter & Glass Pieces
All of our pewter and glass items are handmade of Italian pewter and either mouth-blown glass or crystal. Mouth-blown glass is irregular in shape and may contain small bubbles and imperfections. These qualities are intentional and desirable, as they reflect the genuine handmade quality of the piece.  The pewter and glass are fused together with a specialized clamping machine and/or the use of a food grade sealer. All pewter and glass items should be washed by hand using nonabrasive, non-citrus detergent. These items should not be used in the oven, microwave, or freezer. Arte Italica may be able to replace broken glass in our glass and pewter drinkware collections. Please contact our Customer Assistance Team for information.

Porcelain Dinnerware (Porcellana)

Silver-gilded Pieces (Vetro Silver)
