Southern Season is a true success story. Started in 1975 by Michael Barefoot, Southern Season has grown tremendously! Originally named A Southern Season, was opened by Mr Barefoot it was a small coffee roastery. The business continued to grow and began to offer specialty grocery, wine, cookware and housewares. They adapted a weathervane logo, a rooster with all points facing South and opened a restaurant (The Weathervane.)
By 2003 A Southern Season had moved into a 59,000 square foot space, making it the largest specialty-only gourmet market in the US! In addition they opened a cooking school with appearances by local and national chefs.
Today they have dropped the "A" and in 2013 opened their second location in Mt. Pleasant, SC and just this year a third location in Richmond, VA.
Just recently our NC rep and I visited the Chapel Hill location to do a training for the staff.
They had a beautiful fall table set with our Tuscan Dinnerware and Animale Pilsners. I love how they set their feature tables, showcasing products throughout the store. Here they have pastas, olives and specialty beer, perfect with our Animale glasses.
And who could miss the bottle of Dom Perignon under the glass dome!
The back wall showcasing all of our BEST collections!
Check them out online or visit them at one of their locations. It is truly a store you need to see!
